Hey this series is really blessing me and my family. My wife is really into it and taking good notes. I’m happy that we are getting practical knowledge to apply instead of hooping and hollering about nothing. I just have a question though. How do I handle people in the body who just because they may have more “stuff” or maybe money put on airs like they have it all together like they do try to treat me as if I am inferior to them. Because they “percieve” that I am constantly out of the will or that I may not be as in tune as they are? And I can understand that they may have discernment, but sometimes they are completely off target. And what is the line between humilty and being walked on?
I know I’m off topic slightly. But I need direction

Well – most people who jump up and down about stuff do not have it all the way together! It is easy to get stuff, but when you find out how much debt they are in to have that stuff, it will make you think twice. I would rather have an older car that is paid for, than a new car that I have to make payments on. The scripture says we should be lenders, and while I know that many of us have not reached the point where we can pay for everything using cash, all of us should be trying very hard to be totally debt free.
Often times those same people with stuff do not have emergency funds, college savings for their children, savings for themselves or any type of investments… You have to look at the whole picture instead of what you can see with your eyes.

Sometimes even though others could be in a worse off or same situation as you are they see things that you going to do or have done that they have already proved to be unwise. So they are offering advice to try keep you out of trouble. It’s not something to get offended over; just take the meat of what they are saying and leave the bones. These types of situations you should not take personal (or let your ego get in the way).

csheppard,
I think you are misunderstanding my reason for asking the question. You are assuming I am hurt or that my ego is in the way. Well the truth is that I am just trying to grow and understand “How” to grow. Now the question is: Is the advice good advice or “GOD” advice? Sometimes people can say too much or misunderstand the situation based on the outside looking in. But I am determined to keep moving. Bottom line doesn’t bother me I was just looking for sound counsel from my sheppard. DANG! Can never spell sheppard since I met you guys! I WON THE 5th GRADE SPELLING BEE!

I have had these CDs for months and the other day I was riding in my car feeling down, I was like I am going to listen to this, for some reason it was there and at that exact moment that was the message that the Lord needed me to hear. I felt like the message was stricly for me and somebody was all in my business, but that was nothing but the conviction of the holy spirit. I called my cousin and thanked her for that word and I have known her for 30 years and never thanked her for anything. LOL. It was a powerful message and although my feet hurt from all the times my toes got stepped on it was truly the word of God coming forth at the precise moment it needed to be heard in my life. I was truly blessed by it and I will be getting some more CDs. Keep up the good work, your labour is not in vain.
